Curry General Hospital is a 24-bed, acute-care medical facility established in 1951. The hospital includes a round-the-clock emergency room staffed by on-call physicians, as well as complete medical-surgical facilities, obstetrical wing, medical laboratory and radiology. Recent acquisitions include a state-of-the-art GE high-speed spiral CT scanner, a 3-D QCT bone mineral density measuring system, and other specialized equipment for ultrasound, echocardiology and mammography; as well as the surgical suite's Linvatec arthroscopy system. The hospital also hosts visiting specialists who follow patients and/or perform surgery in ophthalmology, orthopedics, urology, ear-nose-and-throat, cardiology and general surgery.
