This short but difficult trail begins at Sunrise Lodge at Mt. Bachelor Ski Area 21 miles east of Bend. The trail is very steep with numerous switchbacks to the summit of Mt. Bachelor, which affords a close-up view of this young volcano and provides stunning views of the Three Sisters and Broken Top. For a less strenuous hike, visitors can ride a chairlift to the summit and descend by this trail. Contact the Bend-Fort Rock Ranger District for more information.
