City Map with Features
This 3.9 mile trail traverses the west bank of Muir Creek, and passes through a forest of western white pine, western hemlock, and douglas fir, offering views of high mountain meadows and thickets of box alder. Wildflowers are common in the open meadows and along the stream bank. Visitors will often spot elk and deer, and many take advantage of the opportunity for picnicking and fishing for cutthroat trout. A variety of wild berries can be found towards the north end of the trail. Listen for Muir Creek Falls, located three miles north of the trailhead.
