This steep trail is located within the Kalmiopsis Wilderness near the south fork of the Chetco River and follows an old bulldozer path to the wreckage site of a U.S. Navy transport plane which crashed here in 1944. Parts of the plane can still be seen, and there is a monument dedicated to the men that died in the crash. For more information and directions, contact the Chetco Ranger District.
