Newberg Oregon

Newberg, Oregon (Cities) image

Newberg was the first community in Oregon granted permission to hold formal Quaker services. Herbert Hoover was in the first graduating class of Pacific Academy, a college founded by Quakers.

Some of Oregon's oldest and largest wineries are in and around Newberg. Champoeg State Park lies 5 miles to the southwest near the Willamette River.

Less than thirty minutes from metropolitan Portland or Salem, just over an hour to the Oregon Coast or the slopes of Mount Hood, Newberg is ideally situated for the good life. With an elevation of only 175 feet above sea level and a relatively close location to the Pacific Ocean, Newberg enjoys a very moderate climate. It's also close to countless activities and opportunities. Newberg still maintains a small town, pastoral atmosphere that allows you to leave the hectic pace behind.

Newberg is part of the Portland-Vancouver, Oregon-WA metro area.
