The North Fork Umatilla Wilderness, located just 30 miles east of Pendleton, encompasses 20,144 acres in the Umatilla National Forest. Hunting, fishing, hiking, and equestrian use are important activities in the wilderness. Wildlife found in the wilderness includes elk and deer, as well as blue and ruffed grouse.
