Oregon Cascades Birding Trail | |
One of many State Trails, the Oregon Cascades Birding Trail is a self-guided auto tour, which highlights nearly 200 prime birding destinations in the Oregon Cascades. The trail traces more than 1,200 miles of highways and byways. The Cascades Trail will be the first of up to seven birding trails in Oregon, highlighting the state's scenic and diverse habitat. In the northern part of the state, in the Oregon's Mt. Hood Territory, the Oregon Cascades Birding Trail runs down both sides of the Cascade Mountains, and runs along 22 Wild and Scenic Rivers, and provides access to 9,000,000 acres of public land. NOTE: Visitors to Oregon's Mountains and Wilderness areas should dress for quickly changing weather. Experts suggest use of layerd clothing that will remain warm when wet and lug-soled shoes or boots for off-trail hiking.
