Pendleton Round-Up Hall of FameHonoring Rodeo Greats |
Founded in 1969, the Pendleton Round-Up Hall of Fame preserves the memories, traditions, and memorabilia of the Round-Up and Happy Canyon.
Ten men and five horses were the first honorees, and each year other men and women are selected by the Hall of Fame board of directors. Inductees in 1995 included cowgirl Bertha Blachett, roper Everett Shaw, and lifelong Round-Up and Happy Canyon volunteers Don, Bob, and Wray Hawkins.
Displays in the Hall of Fame range from the full body mount of the famed bucking horse Warpaint to delicate beadwork. Hundreds of items, including saddles, clothing, Indian costumes, photographs, firearms, awards, and plaques are displayed. Located under the south grandstand, the Hall is open from 10 to 5 daily.
