Located in Ed Benedict Park, the Portland Memory Garden is designed specifically for people with Alzheimer's disease and other memory problems. The garden is one of eight memory gardens in the United States, and one of only two built on public land.
Away from other park activity and relatively flat, the memory garden is a national demonstration garden project, which was planned to stimulate the senses. A variety of garden art is shown, including brightly colored birdhouses, wind chimes, bird feeders, and a water fountain.
