Ponzi Vineyards, Portland's closest winery and vineyard, is located in rolling farmland 15 miles southwest of the city center. Established in 1970, this small family owned and operated winery has earned international recognition for consistently producing high quality Pinot noir, Pinot gris, Chardonnay, vino gelato and Arneis. The winery has been regulary listed in the Wine Spectator's " Top 100 Wines" and the Wine Advocate has recognized winemaker Dick Ponzi as one of the top fifteen international winemakers.
