Rimrock Springs Wildlife Management Area

An Oasis in the High Desert

Rimrock Springs Wildlife Management Area Prineville, Oregon (Wildlife) image Grab your binoculars and hit the trail. In the midst of the arid high desert of Central Oregon, a wetland environment of ponds and springs invades the characteristic juniper-sagebrush steppe, creating an oasis in the high desert.

A 1.5 mile trail leads to two observation decks, one of which is barrier-free. The remainder of the trail loops up around the hilltop for panoramic views of the Cascade range.

Rimrock Springs Wildlife Management Area is adjacent to Highway 26, about 10 miles south of Madras and 17 miles north of Prineville.
