In the mid 1880's, European immigrants, Claus and Hannchen Schmidt came to Grants Pass and homesteaded on the
Rogue River where their five children were born. Their 1901 craftsman-style historic home houses the museum. The grounds include a garden, fruit trees, and a barn. The museum also features a regional research library. Guided tours are available.
Open: Tues-Fri. Extended summer hours.
