Sno-Parks (Permits)

The state of Oregon requires Sno-Park permits during winter in certain mountain recreation areas. Proceeds keep Oregon's winter recreation areas accessible. Permits are available at Department of Motor Vehicles offices, local ski shops and area lift ticket offices.

ORS 811.590 requires that persons who park a vehicle in a designated winter recreation parking area between November 15 and April 30 must display a parking permit issued by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). An Advisory committee appointed by ODOT designates certain areas to be plowed for winter recreation and permits are required when parking in those areas. Permits are transferable from vehicle to vehicle.
