Sparks Lake

Search Visit Oregon

Sparks Lake was formed about 10,000 years ago when lava from the Mt. Bachelor Volcanic Chain blocked the upper Deschutes River.

Sparks Lake is a large (400 acres), shallow (10 feet at its deepest) lake on the northwest edge of Mt. Bachelor. Enjoy breathtaking views of the South Sister, Mt. Bachelor, and Broken Top. The lake is open to fly fishing only.
