The headwaters of the Umatilla River are in the
Blue Mountains of northeast Oregon. The river flows westward out of the mountains through the Umatilla Indian Reservation and through
Pendleton.
Echo, Stanfield and
Hermiston also lie along its course, which finally leads it to the
Columbia River at
Umatilla.
