Located on the north edge of Upper Klamath Lake, 25 miles NW of Klamath Falls along Highway 140, access to the refuge is by boat only. Suggested access points are the Rocky Point Resort and Malone Spring, a USFS recreation site. The marsh provides an excellent habitat for several species of ducks, as well as white pelicans, herons, egrets, and other colonial nesting birds.
The public can use the refuge for wildlife observation, study, and photography, waterfowl hunting, boating, canoeing, and fishing.
