Located on the shores of
Green Peter Reservoir and Foster Lake east of
Sweet Home. on Quartzville Rd, 11 miles NE of the junction with
Highway 20 and near the
Santiam River. Activities at this site include Camping, Birding, Swimming, Sailing, Picnicking and Hiking and spectacular canyon views.
There ar 39 campsites available, (RV, Trailer or tent). Potable water is available but must be hauled. Picnic tables, Garbage bins and Vault toilets are provided. Two boat ramps on the reservoir are provided and are about one mile from the camp.
Reservations are taken April - October. Fees are charged. Contact the Linn County Parks.
Birders may have the opportunity to see Golden Eagle and Osprey near the shore of the reservoir. Golden Eagle nests may be seen to the north. Blue Grouse, Pygmy-Owl, Vaux’s Swift, Blue-breasted Sapsucker, Brown Creeper, Hammond’s Flycatcher and Black-headed Grosbeak. The Common Loon, a migrating species, may be seen in spring and fall seasons.
