Family camping in a wooded
Siuslaw River location with a hiking trail that provides access to an old growth stand of Douglas fir high above the campground. Chinook, and Coho salmon, as well as steelhead trout can be observed in the fall and winter months in the creek next to the campground.

Facilities include: 31 tent only campsites, 2 picnic sites, Vault toilets (accessible), Potable water available from hand pumps, Picnic tables, fire rings, Children’s play structure, Swimming area (June-September), Horseshoe pit, Old Growth Ridge Trail (1.5 mile trail), Universal access campsite and a Host (June-September).
Electricity and Firewood are unavailable. Fees are charged, Day-use Parking: No fee (camping overflow area).
Season: May through November.
The campground is located south of Highway 126 between Mapleton and Eugene on the Siuslaw River Road. It is located about 12 miles east of Mapleton or 33 miles west of Eugene. Turn south on Siuslaw Road and go 1.5 miles. Then turn right on Whittaker Creek Road to enter the campground on the right.
