Zigzag

Located in Clackamas County on Highway 26 east of Portland and at the foot of Mount Hood. The communities of Rhododendron and Zigzag share the same zip code, 97049. The combined population of the two small communities is 2,336.

The general demographic of this area, defined as New Sub-Urban, is found in the regions of the Northern Pacific, the Rocky Mountains and in northern New England.

New Sub-Urban communities have above-average college education and an even mix of white/blue-collar jobs. A high index for personal computers reflects several new, high-tech industries in these areas. The area known as "Silicon Forest", containing campuses of large technology companies, is to the west of these two communities.

These communities border the Mount Hood National Forest .
