Easton is located in Northampton County just northeast of Allentown along Highway 22 on the banks of the Delaware River near the New Jersey state line. Home of the Lafayette College campus. Centre Square, in downtown Easton, was the site for one of only three readings of the Declaration of Independence, on July 8, 1776. The National Canal Museum is a popular attraction within Easton, where visitors can explore America's canal heritage and see what life was like before railroads, airplanes, and highways.
