Known as the "Gateway to Oil Country," Emlenton is located northwestern Pennsylvania in the southern portion of Venango County. Emlenton's first oil well was drilled in 1867, after "black gold fever" gripped the countryside. Several community events held throughout the year draw visitors from all around. The Kennerdell Art & Music Festival is held annually in August and features paintings and a symphony concert. Old Fashioned Christmas in Oil Country features the Festival of Trees, Victorian street decorations, and much more.
