A pre-Revolutionary style house was built in 1745 on property that was originally part of a 138-acre land grant from William Penn to Brinton King. This was one of the first homes to be built in Pennsbury Township. Gables at Chadds Ford, established in 1997, is situated in the heart of the historic Brandywine Valley.
