Originally opened in 1963, the present collection is the result of years of collecting by Robert and Mary Merritt. As a result of their efforts, the collection spans the expanse of time from ancient Egypt to the 20th century. The doll groupings on display from the 1850 to 1910 period are beyond compare and the museum now houses a nationally recognized collection.
