Once the location of a splash dam during the logging era, the dam is gone now, replaced by mixed hardwoods and hemlocks. Huge white pines surround the organized tenting area along White Deer Creek. The meadow-like, rustic tenting area is for qualified adult and youth groups. This area has rustic toilets and a parking area. One responsible adult leader or counselor (18 years of age or older) is required to accompany each ten campers. The small picnic area has tables, a few charcoal grills and a rustic restroom. McCall Dam State Park is in the extreme east end of Centre County. It can be reached by travelling McCall Dam state forest road which links PA Route 192 at R. B. Winter State Park and PA Route 880 at Eastville.
