Founded in 1805, the museum houses a collection of American art that spans 3 centuries. Featured are works by Mary Cassatt, Richard Diebenkorn, Thomas Eakins, Georgia O'Keeffe, Horace Pippin, Katherine Porter and Benjamin West. The museum building, erected in 1876, is an outstanding example of Victorian Gothic architecture. Open Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 11am-5pm; closed holidays. Admission is free to all on Sunday, 3-5pm.
