This park is situated in a narrow valley surrounded by oak forests on steep mountain ridges. A spring-fed mountain stream flows through the valley overshadowed by large, second growth pine and hemlock trees. The Rapid Run Natural Area has old growth timber and many vernal pools. R. B. Winter is a great, secluded place for a vacation or a day trip.
R. B. Winter State Park is situated on 695 acres within the Bald Eagle State Forest. The park is in central Pennsylvania, Union County, on PA Route 192, 18 miles west of Lewisburg.
