Bounded by Chestnut, Pine, 32nd and 40th streets. The University was founded in 1740; it is currently considered to be one of the leading educational centers in the nation. In 1765 the country's first medical school was opened at the university. Tours of the campus are available through the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 1 College Hall. The office is open Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. Free to the public.
