Wellsboro is located in Tioga County, of which it is the county seat, northwest of Williamsport along Highway 6 near the Hammond and Tioga reservoirs. The community is the home of the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, and was settled in 1806 by settlers from Delaware, Maryland, and Philadelphia.
