Weavertown One-Room Schoolhouse |
This one-room school demonstrates a lifestyle that still exists among Lancaster County's plain people. This authentic one-room school was built in 1877, and held classes for close to 100 years. Visitors can learn about current one-room schools in Lancaster County, and their importance to the Amish community. The schoolhouse actually comes to life through the use of Audio-animatronics. Thirty animated students and their teacher will show what it is like to go to a school where grades 1 through 8 are in the same room. Visitors will see the original desks, potbellied stove, blackboards and much more.
