White Haven is located in Luzerne County in northeastern Pennsylvania, south of Wilkes-Barre along Highway 437 on the banks of the Lehigh River. The community was named for Josiah White, a major stockholder in the Lehigh Coal & Navigation Company.
White Haven is part of the Scranton--Wilkes-Barre--Hazleton metro area.
