Youngwood is located in Westmoreland County and is part of the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania metropolitan area. Youngwood was named after early landowners John Young and James Woods. The community became the southwest branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Visitors should be sure to visit the Youngwood Railroad Museum, featuring railroad memorabilia in a restored railroad station.
