Built in the mid-1800's, the house was once the home of cousins of Lucy Maud Montgomery's grandfather. Their farm inspired the setting for her fictional novel, `Anne of Green Gables`. The farm portrays the Victorian setting described in the novel. Nearby, the Balsam Hollow and Haunted Wood trails feature some of Montgomery's favourite woodland haunts, including Lover's Lane. Farm demonstrations and interpretive programs offered daily in July and Aug. Exhibits, gift shop, video cafe' and washrooms on site. Open May thru Oct. Located off Rte. 6, west of Rte. 13.
