Barceloneta Puerto Rico

Barceloneta is situated in the middle of the north side of Puerto Rico. It was founded in 1881 and derives its name from Barcelona, Spain. Its water is very pure, which has attracted a number of pharmaceutical manufacturers. It is also known as "Pineapple City" on account of the extensive pineapple plantations.

Barceloneta is part of the San Juan-Bayamon, Puerto Rico metro area.
