Search Culebra Puerto Rico

As one of Theodore Roosevelt's final acts as President in 1909, he designated Culebra a national wildlife refuge. Today it stands as one of the last frontier outposts of the Caribbean and one of only two nesting sites in the United States for the leatherback sea turtle, one of the world's largest marine reptiles. Three other endangered species, the loggerhead, green and hawksbill are all protected by the wildlife refuge.
