The best developed hiking and the longest trail on the island is found in the El Yunque rainforest (787-888-1810). Many popular hiking places are found along the Cordillera Central (the central mountain range that splits the island east to west). These, along with karst and mangrove forests, from the Commenwealth Forest Reserve network. The Commonwealth forests offer recreational areas, many offer mountain bike trails, and some permit camping with permission.
