One of the major attractions on the island of Vieques Island is Mosquito Bay, also known as Phosphorescent Bay, with its glowing waters produced by tiny bioluminescent organisms that live near the surface. The organisms dart away from boats, leaving eerie blue-white trails of phosphorescence. The ideal time to view these unique organisms is to tour on a cloudy, moonless night and bring a bathing suit since it's possible to swim in the glowing waters.
