Just south of Fajardo, one of the largest naval bases in the world, Roosevelt Roads, occupies about a quarter of Puerto Rico's eastern coastline. Headquarters of the U.S. Caribbean Naval Forces, the base fuels all American and Allied ships in the area and overseas large-scale sea maneuevers.
