The Boys and Girls Club was founded in 1868. Only it wasnt called that. It took the name of The Boys Club. It took more than 120 years for the Boys Club, in 1990, to change and become an unisex organization.
These days one thing stays true to when it was founded, and that is its mission: to try to provide a safe place where the cycle of poverty with all its rough edges might be rounded off and the dreams of children are nurtured and encouraged.
