Independent center for advanced research since 1901 in history and the humanities, at Brown University. Housed here is a renowned collection of primary historical sources pertaining to the Americas, both North and South, before ca. 1825. The library offers fellowships, sponsors lectures and conferences, sponsors exhibitions for the public, and publishes catalogues and bibliographies.
