On the second floor of the Peace Dale Office Building, some 12,000 objects from not only Rhode Island but around the world add up to a very impressive collection.

From early European flint instruments to Indian basketry and tools, Rowland G. Hazard who founded the museum in 1892, would be pleased to see how well it's grown. The museum has also put together free maps for a two-mile walking tour of Peace Dale (the 19th century mill village was home to the first woolen worsted mill in the country) and a driving tour of South County that encompasses a number of historical landmarks.
