Roger Williams National Memorial |
This memorial marks the historic site of the original 1636 Providence settlement and includes 4.5 acres of landscaped park. A visitor center offers displays and a 3 minute videotape describing the life of the city's founder.
In addition to being a splended historical site, Roger Williams park offers many attractions as well, including a carousel, paddle boats, a Children's Nature Center, the Museum of Natural History, a Planetarium, and a Zoo.
Roger Williams Park attracts an average of more than 650,000 visitors annually.
