Darlington is located in Darlington County, of which it is the county seat, between Hartsville and Florence along Highway 151 near Lake Robinson.
Darlington is home to the Darlington Raceway. The Darlington Raceway hosts two weekend events each year. The Southern 500 NASCAR race is the largest one-day tourist event in the state of South Carolina, bringing over 100,000 fans to the area. The area boasts many excellent recreation complexes, golf courses and tennis. Darlington is rich in agriculture, industry, and tourism with the racing industry.
