Kingstree is located in
Williamsburg County, of which it is the county seat. The town is situated along United States Highway 52 on the banks of the Black River. Kingstree is located midway between
Florence and
Charleston.
Kingstree serves as the county seat and also serves as the business center for over 36,000 residents. An agricultural based community, Kingstree is home to one of the largest cotton gins and tobacco markets in the state. Situated 75 miles from Charleston, Columbia, and Myrtle Beach, Kingstree is accessible by two major highways, United States Highway 52 and United States Highway 527.
