Established in 1975, The Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge offers 4,073 acres. Approximately 2,700 of those acres are saltmarsh & tidal creeks. The refuge is home to four islands: Corn, Little Harry, Big Harry & Pinckney Island.
The refuge has been open to the public since 1985. The refuge is used for studying, viewing and photographing the island's wildlife and scenery. These are all popular activities throughout the year. There are over 14 miles of trails open for hiking and bicycling. No motorized vehicles are allowed north of the public parking lot.
