Sullivan's Island is located in
Charleston County just east of
Charleston between
Charleston and Isle of Palms along Highway 703 near the Intracoastal Waterway. Sullivans Island serves as the county seat.
Today, Sullivan's Island is a small barrier island just ten miles from downtown Charleston, South Carolina. There is no public beach, but the beach is accessible by a path on every block which leads to the beach.
