Platte Public Library, serving an area of 1,380 residents, has a collection of 12,000 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 390 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes. Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $2,100. Patrons make 5,200 visits annually, and check out materials 5,400 times. Thirty-three percent of all check-outs are children's materials.

Sully County Fair Onida SD August9-12 kicking off the fair with a parade through Onida on Thursday, at 6:27 p.m. The parade will end up at the fairgrounds where we will be having cake, refreshments and music.
