The USS South Dakota was the most decorated battleship of World War II, having been a participant in every major battle in the Pacific from 1942-1945. The US Navy Memorial in Sherman Park honors those who served, and those who died, aboard the vessel.
The memorial is open daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
