Benefiting from frequent appearances of chinooks blowing in from Alberta, this appropriately named golf course is themually one of the first in the province to open for play in the Spring. The longer growing season, and a full irrigation system help keep Chinook's fairways and greens in excellent playing condition throughout the golf season. The course is located on the south side of town at a bend in the Swift Current Creek. Horseshoe Lake (at one time part of the creek) sits in the middle of the course, cradling the 8th and 9th fairways. Because both the lake and the creek are in play (seven of nine holes have water), you're advised to make sure your bag is well stocked with balls before beginning your round.
