Chattanooga Regional History Museum

Housed in a 1910 school building two blocks from the Tennessee River in downtown Chattanooga, the museum seeks to illuminate and portray events in the history of southeast Tennessee, northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama, from prehistory to the present. The story of these events and the people of the region is told in the museum's award winning permanent exhibition, a three dimensional, interactive experience entitled Chattanooga Country: Its Land, Rivers and People. In addition, the Museum has outstanding collections of artifacts relating to prehistoric Chattanooga, the Civil War, nineteenth and early twentieth century business and industry, and the history of tourism in the region.
