The town of Huntland is located just off Highway 64 in
Franklin County, 12 miles south of Winchester, the county seat; 35 miles north of Huntsville, Alabama; and 100 miles south of Nashville, Tennessee's state capitol.
Partially surrounded by mountains and fertile farmlands, Huntland's principle industry is farming, specifically dairy, poultry, livestock and row cropping.
One of Huntland's claims to fame is the fact that Davy Crockett's wife, Poly, is buried on a knoll overlooking Beans Creek, about a mile from town. Also, Huntland was home to football's Johnny Majors.
Locally, Huntland is famous for it's annual 4th of July celebration, a lively festival with local country musicians, and dancing until all hours of the night.
